SUMMARY:Orientations for Both New Members and Class Support Volunteers
DESCRIPTION:There are two different orientation meetings for: \n\nPresenters\, producers\, class managers\, AV\, and class support (9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.)\nNew members (10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.)\n\nThese meetings are followed by the Fall Luncheon as well as the LLI Art Show. See details below. \n  \n\nOrientation for Presenters\, Class Managers\, AV and Class Support\nOrientation Information\nThe day starts with an Orientation for the people who created our fall classes – the producers and presenters – and for the people who will support the classes during the semester – class managers and AV team members. At 9:30\, they all gather in Weis Cinema for the Orientation; at 10:15\, everyone moves upstairs for the producer\, presenter\, class manager\, and AV team member for each class to meet. \n9:30 a.m. – 10:15 am in Weis Auditorium\n\nTom Esposito; LLI Council President\nAV Support: Gus Pederson and Dave Jutton\, Co-Managers\, AV subcommittee\nOverview: Anne Sunners\, Chair LLI Curriculum\nRegistration Process Overview: Dan Peterson\nSupport Overview: Carol Goss and Maddy Watterson\, Co-Chairs\, Class Support\n\nMeetings and Review of Class Support Needs\n10:20 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.\nRoom 214 – Courses 1A – 3E\nRoom 202 – Courses 4A – 7C \nThe 2nd floor can be accessed by elevator or stairs. To make a reservation for the luncheon\, look for an email to LLI members around August 20. The email will include a luncheon registration form\, including payment through PayPal. Luncheon is only available for members who have registered\, paid\, and received a confirmation of their acceptance based on room capacity. Places are given on a first-come\, first-serve basis. \nGuest speaker at the luncheon is to be announced. \n  \n\nLLI Member Art Show\nOngoing from 9/7/2018 beginning at 11:30 a.m. through 9/14/2018 at 5:30 p.m. in the Ball Lounge of Campus Center

DESCRIPTION:About the Luncheon\nThe academic year begins with a welcome luncheon for both new and returning LLI members. \nGuest speaker is Dorothy Erlich\, Deputy Executive Director of ACLU. Her topic is: \n“The ACLU at 100 — Confronting New Challenges to our Democracy”  \nThere will also be a brief welcome from LLI president\, Tom Esposito. \nWhen\n\nCheck-in starts at 11:30 a.m.\nIntroductory remarks start around 12:00 noon\nLunch\nGuest speaker: Dorothy Erlich\, Deputy Director of ACLU\, on “The ACLU at 100 — Confronting New Challenges to our Democracy”\nLuncheon ends at 1:45 (approximately)\nView the LLI Member Art Show after the meeting.\n\nWhere\nMultipurpose Room of the Campus Center\, which has a maximum capacity of 140 people. \nReservations\nThe cost is $10/attendee. \nMembers will receive an email invitation around August 20. The invitation includes a link to a registration form and payment by credit card through PayPal. \nRegistration will remain open until we receive 140 reservations or until September 1\, 2018. \nUnfortunately\, we will have to cut off luncheon registrations when we have reached the room capacity\, so this is a first-come\, first-serve event. Only those who have registered online\, including payment\, and received an emailed confirmation of their acceptance will be able to attend. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes. \n
