Welcome to lifetime learning institute (LLI) at Bard College
As a member-run organization, LLI seeks applicants who can make a commitment to the LLI community as both learners and contributors to LLI operations. Please review important information here for prospective applicants, as well as Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Overview
Applications for LLI membership take place June 1 – 21. The next application cycle is June 1 – 21, 2020.
Our application for membership asks you to tell us about yourself – skills and expertise, volunteer interests. If you are accepted, your information will be added to an LLI database that we use to identify members who might help with the organization.
Please be aware that most new members are selected by lottery from the applicant pool. Priority is given to presenters who have taught a full semester course in the past or who have been accepted to teach a full-semester course in the next semester.
If you are not accepted, you are encouraged to apply again the next year. (LLI does not maintain a waiting list.)
New member requirements
- All members must have an Email address and access to the Internet. LLI communicates with its members and conducts business electronically.
- New members must be able to pay the membership fee electronically with a credit or bank card. LLI uses PayPal for secure transactions and does not keep members’ credit card information.
