The Bard Calendar is Amazing

The Bard Conservatory will present pianists Xak Bjerken and Miri Yampolsky in a concert of Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Schumann, Scriabin and Steven Stucky. At the Lazlo Bito Conservatory Building, October 15, 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

The Center for the Moving Image will screen four films at the Jim Ottaway, Jr. Film Center in their International Film Noir Series – October 9 from 7 pm to midnight and October 23 from 7 pm to midnight. Get out your trenchcoats and fedoras and enjoy!

The CCS Bard Hessel Museum’s exhibit of Brazilian Daniel Steegmann Mangrane’s A Transparent Leaf Instead of the Mouth will be closing October 15. The Bard Hessel Museum is open Thursdays through Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.

There will be a lecture Space and Spirit: Mapping the Geography of Hasidism on Monday, October 15 from 5:30 pm to 7 in the Reem-Kayden Center auditorium. Professor Marcin Wodzinski of the University of Wroclaw, Poland, will explore questions about the origins, spread, and post-Holocaust resurgence of this important socioreligious movement in modern Judaism.

At the Fisher Center, Oct 12, 13 at 7:30 pm and October 14 at 4 pm, Interactive media artist Andrew Schneider will perform Nervous/System, a cartography of the all-too-fleeting revelations, narratives, and emotional interactions flooding our bodies and brains every second. Tickets are $25.
