Dean Stuart Stritzler-Levine Seniors-to-Seniors Scholarships: LLI policy allows up to $3750 annually to aid students in completing their senior projects, which are usually shared with LLI members at a celebratory tea each spring. This program was created in recognition of Stuart Stritzler-Levine, Emeritus Dean of the College, who advised our four founders in 2001, fostered our close relationship with Bard, and continued his active support for LLI until his death earlier this year.

Fund for Visual Learning: within Bard’s Studio Arts Program, this fund directly assists students in purchasing their art supplies, costs not covered by tuition fees. LLI members have explored this program in our popular course Around Bard. $2500

Joan Tower Composition Scholarship: in gratitude for Professor Tower’s generosity in sharing the Conservatory students’ selective performances and the creative process in her many LLI courses. $1500

The donations approved to date total $23,450 of the budgeted $30,000 for the fiscal year 2020-21. Additional Bard requests will be considered by LLI’s Finance Committee, as needed. The budget for each fiscal year is approved by the membership at the prior Annual Meeting held in May. Please contact Robert Beaury, [email protected], Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee for more information. Member interest is most welcome.

Throughout our 20 years in community, we’ve welcomed Bard faculty and staff as favorite course presenters, and many at LLI have developed strong relationships with our colleagues at Bard and the vital programs we continue to help fund. Our yearly donations to Bard demonstrate our ongoing support for the College and our sincere gratitude for Bard’s recognition of LLI’s enduring partnership.
