The Basics
LLI sends out periodic email messages to our mailing list using MailChimp. This requires coordination with the responsible committee (for example, the Curriculum Committee oversees catalog releases, Membership Development oversees messages to new members). We try to be proactive in these messages so no one is scrambling at midnight the day before an email blast goes out!
The email blast coordinator would:
- Check the email schedule each month for messages scheduled to be sent.
- Contact the responsible committee (with a link to a previous email message) as a tickler.
- Forward the changes from the previous message to the Communications Team. The request is assigned to a Tech Team Member who knows MailChimp (or, the coordinator could learn MailChimp).
- Ensure all approvals are made so the messages are sent on time.
The Perks
Get a better understanding of how LLI communicates with members. This involves many levels of review.
Keep us on track to follow the annual calendar.
Possibility to use some of our G Suite tools (Docs, Sheets, Shared Drives) to track progress.
Possibility to learn MailChimp.
Time Commitment
The estimated time commitment is 2 hours per month to coordinate all the responsible teams. If you want to learn MailChimp, this time commitment might increase.
